Jennifer runs a technology development and private equity consulting business, Bawden Capital. She is also co-founder of Innovative American Technology , a Homeland Security sensor company developing advanced Chemical, Biological, Radiation, Nuclear and Explosives sensors in partnership with the U.S. Department of Energy, Lockheed Martin, UNISYS and Sanmina-SCI. She is also on the Business Advisory board of Neogenix Oncology and is a Senior Advisor to 1st U.S. Capital a Private Equity Merchant bank. In speeches in early 07 and as the editor of the Contrarian Consensus she was one of the very first voices to warn of a coming crash of 1929 proportions and to forecast in early 2007 gold's rise above 1000$ an ounce. In 1999 and 2000 she was a managing director at a New York venture capital firm, International Technologies and Finance.
Jennifer has also raised millions of dollars as chairman or co-chairman of the fundraising committee of some of New York's prestigious nonprofit organizations, including: The Metropolitan Foundation which she is a co-founder, The Guggenheim, The New York City Opera, and The American French Foundation among others.
Her motivational guide for young women published by Penguin Putnam in January 2000, was in 7 languages and over 20 countries and appeared in over 1,000 articles and radio spots. She has been a frequent commentator on over 100 radio and TV shows including: ABC, CBS, CTV, FOX, CNBC, MSNBC, WNYW's "Good Day New York", New York One, Report on Business TV, Philadelphia after Midnight, E! Entertainment, The Ananda Lewis Show and The Joe Franklin Show. She was the Technology Editor at NewsUSA, a contributing editor to Hamptons Magazine and wrote a syndicated column in Canada.
Earlier in her career, her entrepreneurial success as CEO of a fashion startup was confirmed by numerous awards and industry recognition including The Young Woman of Achievement Award and The Clairol Fashion Award for Young Talent. Her dresses graced seven covers of Cosmopolitan Magazine, covers of New Woman and Bridal Magazines, the coveted Fifth Avenue windows of Bergdorf Goodman, Giorgio's-Fred Haymen on Rodeo Drive and Martha's International on Park Avenue who voted her as one of America's Top Ten Young Designers. The Atlanta Journal & Constitution described her as "one of the world's fastest rising stars in evening dresses".
She attended the Harvard Business School Executive Education Program; Private Equity Deals, received her B.A. from the University of Western Ontario, a graduate degree in Design & Marketing from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in L.A. and attended classes at McGill and Julliard. Athletic achievements include competing on the European Pro Freestyle skiing circuit, winning the Italian championships and placing second in the Swiss championships. She speaks French, German, Italian, and some Hindi.
